Style How To: Crochet Trend

Me and Georgie both apologise for our lack of posts these few weeks. We have both been extremely busy with end of year exams at Uni. However, now that we’re all finished we hope to get back to posting regularly – and even more so! Please comment and let us know if there’s anything you specifically want us to cover. We both have some exciting posts on the way, so we hope you enjoy what we have in store.

How To Wear Crochet This Summer

Boho chic is a major trend this summer, with crochet being a key feature of this. However, channelling this 1970s vibe may be more difficult to execute than expected. I’ve complied some of my favourite looks, best picks from the high street and looks to avoid, to help you look fab this summer.

Favourite Looks

Kendall Jenner’s Crochet Dress

One of the best crochet looks can be seen from Kendall Jenner’s outfit at Coachella 2016. Teaming her crochet maxi dress with a statement sunnies, necklace and fringed sandals, Kendall nails the Boho trend effortlessly.

Tommy Hilfiger RTW Spring 2016

Tommy Hilfiger clearly shows how this trend is done. This look proves how versatile the crochet trend is – by wearing it head-to-toe. Whilst this full look might not be suitable for every day, wearing any element of this outfit will instantly give a summery, hippie vibe to your look.

Delpozo Crochet Sleeveless Cardigan

Whilst this might not be the most practical way of layering, especially for those vertically challenged, the intricate detail and beautiful hem, make it a must and ticks all the boxes for the crochet trend. Also, this look demonstrates how you can still wear the trend, even in cooler weather.

Emilio Pucci 2016 Crochet Bag

If you’re not completely convinced by the crochet trend, this look perfectly proves how you can dabble in the trend – with crochet accessories. Therefore, you can wear the trend, without fully committing to an outfit.

How NOT to wear crochet

Some things to avoid if you are thinking of attempting the trend. However, bear in mind this is only my personal opinion – you may disagree – so don’t be scared to rock crochet however you feel comfortable, or go out of your comfort zone and experiment!

Don’t go OTT

If you’re not wearing anything underneath, always check all important areas are covered – unless that’s the look you’re purposefully going for
